Wish for a Child: Successfully Unveiled

Shoreline, an NGO Conducted Sponsorship Campaign to Generate Funds to Support Less Privileged Children in Naic, Tanza, Maragondon and Ternate

Children who are living along the shore of Cavite can go to school without worrying about their food, uniform and transportation because of the financial support they will receive. According to the report, there are still many children in Cavite who cannot afford to go to school due to the meagre income of their parents while some were abandoned by either their mother or father. One of the former sponsored child testified that he was crying to receive his first pair of shoes. Another child expressed that he feels he is really a child for the first time when he was being taken care of and taken out of child labor.
“Transformation of a child’s life begin through the touch of our hands,” said Remedios Baclea-an, President of Shoreline. “We shall do everything to make sure the well-being of children”

“All people wants to give, they just don’t know how and where to give,” said Boris Joaquin, Director for Publics in Ministry of World Vision Philippines. “Do not be ashamed to ask people to give, you are not asking for yourself, you are asking for others.”

Shoreline took the initiative to support the less privileged children in Naic, Tanza, Maragondon and Ternate through the Wish for a Child Campaign. Shoreline conducted the Unveiling Ceremony for Wish for a Child last November 30, 2010 at Daluyan Community Resource Center. Wish for a Child Campaign is a fund raising activity wherein people who have a heart for children can send a child to school by simply buying a wish ball from Shoreline. Those who will buy a wish ball will receive a personal wish form to be decorated at Shoreline Wish Tree. Sponsored children will pray for the wishes of all those who buy the wish ball.

Shoreline Kabalikat sa Kaunlaran, Inc., is non-Government Organization established to uplift the lives of the poor through transformational development. It has been sponsoring children and families with the assistance of World Vision by providing school needs, food, and livelihood program in the communities of Cavite.
